Cried My Eyes Dry – Edward David Anderson

I wrote this song shortly after I lost my mom to complications cause by cancer treatments. She was diagnosed with non-hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1994, had a bone marrow transplant, did chemo, and beat it. Her cancer came back 10 years later and the radiation treatment damaged her insides beyond repair. After she died, I was devastated. At a certain point I felt as if I had no more tears to cry. That’s where this song comes from.

This is recorded in my basement minutes after I wrote it. The version is raw and real and I’m playing all of the instruments. I am a 42-year-old touring songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. I am happily married for 14 years and we are the proud parents of a doggy and kitty (who travel with us on the road in our RV).
